It all started when I was searching Pinterest for unique marketing ideas and stumbled upon these sensational flower magnets! They make the perfect magnetic business card for my Scentsy business and it is almost like a gift and not a piece of advertising (which I also love). But, if you are looking for that perfect party favor this is it! For weddings they would be so darling with his&her name and the wedding date as a super cute reminder and memento. Do you have a family reunion, summer picnic, housewarming party, birthday bash, or any event coming up this year? I bet you do! Jazz it up and try something different for your save the date cards and turn it into an adorable functional magnet that everyone will love. Here's how:
- First you will need
- Hot glue, glue stick, or craft/tacky glue
- Paper flowers

- Once you get all of your materials together start by making yourself a logo or event name&date. You can do this by hand or just use your printer to make them extra professional. Just make sure you print some test ones first to see what fits behind your stone and that it is also legible. Once you have them printed cut around them so there is extra paper hanging past the stone (you'll trim it up later). I found that if you cut them too small the bare part looks bad without out any background and the text becomes hard to look at.
- Then, simply glue around the perimeter of your cutout. I used a glue stick because you want something that will dry clear. Stick it to the flat part of the glass. Check to make sure everything is lined up to where you can read it and let it dry. Laying it flat on the table works fine for drying, glue stick works so quick and holds great. Do all of your stones at once so they can dry while you get your flowers ready.
- Now you will want to take the center out of your flower. Mine were kind of unique because they had a brown outline to their middle and then a really pretty beaded and glittered ball directly in the center. Turns out the ball was hot glued on, but with a little prying with my fingers I could get it off without damaging the brown outline. After that you can go back and cut the the excess paper away from your glass stone because they'll be perfectly dry by now.
- Back to the good old glue stick smother the back of the paper on your stone. Press it hard into the center of your flower and again set them aside to dry. Believe it or not the stones have very little weight to them and the glue stick works fine, plus there will be no excess glue hanging around to ugly it up!
- Last, you'll want to turn your fabulous flowers into magnets. I know it's hard to wait, but give them a little extra drying time before adding the magnet. You don't want your center moving anywhere this far along! When your certain they are dry, put a dollop of the good stuff in the center of your magnet. This is where you'll want to break out the hot glue gun, craft glue, or tacky glue those magnets will be doing all the work! Carefully turn your flowers over, on a piece of paper or cloth. You don't want the glass touching other glass or another hard service because it could dull or chip your centerpiece. Put the glued magnet smack dab in the middle and again apply firm pressure. Immediately, turn back over so the magnet side is down. This is how they will lay until dry.
You're done! That is all there is too it. I did 24 flowers for $14.76 before my discount. What discount you may ask? The Michael's App- if you don't have it, I don't know what craft rock you are living under! They always having amazing deals on there, that day I had 20% off all items including sale products. That took my total down to $11.81. Which means, each flower was only $0.49! Plus I have glass gems left over and all of the glittered flower centers that I can re-purpose into something fabulous later. So if your pinching your pennies and trying to get your name or event out there in a personable way, blow the dust off your glue gun and get crafting!
